King Salman Park is a large-scale programme of works combining a state of the art public realm environment with commercial development across a sprawling 16.6 square kilometre urban park. Once completed, King Salman Park will be the largest urban park in the world. As Technical Director and representative of the Senior Leadership Team I am responsible for leading a team of Senior Managers to deliver all Technical, Engineering, Project Management, Design, and Interface Management across the programme on behalf of Faithful & Gould as part of their Programme and Construction Management commission.

In 2021, I joined Laing O'Rourke Australia to add highway engineering and design management capacity and capability to their growing highway infrastructure business. As part of Victoria's Big Build, I led the team through the initial tender stages across a tranche of projects for our client, Major Road Projects Victoria as part of their US$1.6bn highway infrastructure portfolio. Following successful project shortlisting, I managed a rigorous design development and value engineering process through the Development Phase that drove the Project's Target Outturn Cost and resulted in substantial cost savings, improved constructability and programme benefits for the project. As this was a collaborative Incentivised Target Cost contract, developing design solutions to meet our client's key project drivers played a significant role in successful contract award. The project included the duplication of existing carriageways, construction of a river bridge, extensive drainage network, soil nail retaining walls and urban design architectural features. The project was situated in an expanding urban area requiring extensive utilities work including gas, telecommunications, water, sewer, and power relocations.I managed a team of multidisciplinary Design Consultants and multiple Specialist Consultants, set up and delivered all design and engineering scope to meet the project's performance requirements through the Delivery Phase. I established the design management systems and processes from inception. I managed Laing O'Rourke's design review process using the latest digital engineering technology to manage internal interdisciplinary reviews, resolve clashes and channel the flow of information to inform design development . Throughout the project I built a strong relationship with our client and led negotiations with key stakeholders. I was a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Project Management Team, and appointed Safety in Design Coordinator.

I have been engaged in assisting the appointed delay expert in determining the actual critical path, analysis of critical delays and preparation of expert reports for the purpose of legal proceedings and arbritration. I have assisted the appointed delay expert in providing expert analysis of delays and programming matters on the following projects:o A multiple high-rise tower block project in the UAEo Construction of a new oil and gas facility in southern Iraqo Construction of a power plant in Omano Programming and delay matters related to contractor performance of a substantial design and build infrastructure contract in the UAE.

The 39 billion USD Qatar Expressway Programme involved the delivery of complex major projects to a challenging 7 year timescale on behalf of Ashghal, Qatar's Public Works Authority in readiness for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and Qatar National Vision 2030. As Design Manager I was responsible for managing interfaces with design consultants and driving design and delivery of a portfolio of contracts for complex and technically challenging projects in an urban environment valued in excess of 1.5 billion USD. Working on one of the largest road infrastructure programmes in the world, my achievements included successfully leading the development of an innovative utilities stacking solution used for the first time in the Middle East. I was also tasked with leading multi-national teams and securing technical approval for a number of contracts, this involved finding a balanced way forward that satisfy the KBR code of conduct within an environment of multiple nationalities, cultures and international organisations. My duties included:o Leading negotiations with certification bodies to obtain key approvalso Change management and preparation of variation orders for Client approvalo Successfully managed funding prioritisation process across a portfolio of projectso Monitoring and reporting on the progress and quality of Design Consultants’ deliverableso Auditing compliance against standards, policies, procedures and best practices for engineering on the programmeo Engagement with regulatory authorities to monitor compliance against approval requirementso Liaison and co-ordination between the Designers in the development of engineering work packageso Driving Health, Safety, Environment and Security requirements through all stages of the design process

As Senior Project Engineer, I was responsible for the construction of gas pipeline infrastructure in the Surat Basin gas fields to connect wells to process gas and water associated with its production. I managed engineering challenges associated with the installation of +475 km of HDPE pipelines to connect gas wells including all live connections on the 630 million USD Queensland Gas Company (QGC)/British Gas (BG) gas gathering project. Duties included:o Responsibility for developing a specialist business unit which included daily management of a team of 25 personnel, compliance training, performance management and development of a bespoke financial and production tracking systemo Permit authority for all live gas operations o Management of safety, quality and production on a daily basis including development of safety procedures and checklists for live gas works o Pre-construction planning, resourcing and scheduling of workso Responsible for raising client RFI’s, non-conformance reports, EOT’s, variations and advising our commercial team on site trends and issueso Coordinate MPC simultaneous operations and interface negotiations with other contractors and drill rigs to optimise safety and avoid delay

As Senior Project Engineer, I was responsible for the construction of 12.4 ML (50 million USD) modular reservoir, chlorination facility, and associated pipe work, structures and services. This water and sewerage infrastructure services Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production facilities on Curtis Island off the coast of Australia. I successfully delivered all end to end construction and commissioning works under my control which met our milestone date on target and provided our client with beneficial use. Duties included:o Planning and coordinating construction activities, materials and resources to meet project milestones on this logistically challenging offshore projecto Procurement and supply chain management of long lead items affecting the critical patho Management of multiple subcontractors, surveyors, plant and construction teams on a daily basiso Engagement with designers, stakeholders and client to successfully meet our client requirements

Initially Design Engineer promoted to Assistant Project Manager on this 210 million USD, 14.8 km, major trunk road scheme. Jacobs were the Employer’s Agent supporting the Highways Agency. Duties included:o Development of preliminary designs for mainline geometry as well as roundabouts and junctionso Collation of engineering deposit documents prior to Public Inquiry and provision of technical input on highway engineering for expert witnesses during the 3-week Public Inquiryo Responsibility for lean deployment including monitoring of planned work tasks by chairing weekly work planning meetings with client, designer, contractor and internal discipline leadso Preparation of objector’s alternative designs and reports including compilation of HSE pre-construction information. Managing the design review process and undertaking highway design reviews and departure applications targeting a 25% reduction in turnaround times o Preparation of scoping documentation for compulsory purchase orders o Conducting pricing analyses for scheme elements particularly lay-bys, stakeholders access works, and environmental mitigation measures

The Bahrain Airport Remote Apron Project valued at 160 million USD consisted of parking for up to 17 Aircraft with in-pavement ground service equipment, 4 taxiways and associated road network, pumping station, substations and services. My role on this project was challenging as it coincided with a period of civil unrest in the Kingdom of Bahrain, I gained first-hand experience leading a multicultural team while simultaneously managing security and health and safety risks. This project marked my first time working in the Middle East and also my first time working in the aviation sector. Duties included:o Ensuring works were carried out with the highest regard to health and safety and airport operational procedureso Providing site supervision for all aspects of Civil Engineering works including underground services network, PCA and blue water piping, fuel mains, HV and LV cables and telecommunication ductingo Supervision of all structural works involved in the construction of GSE building for housing all associated GSE mechanical and electrical equipment. Structure comprised of in-situ reinforced concrete substructure with tanking system and precast concrete superstructure erectiono Responsible for delivering the pavement package 18% ahead of planned completion date o Monitoring placing of all pavement layers from formation level including GSB, CBM and PQCo Coordination and planning of works between main contractors and sub-contractors to ensure programme target dates and handovers were achievedo Provision of an interface to resolve technical and coordination issues to progress workso Approval of material submissions, review of method statements, continuous verbal and written communication with main contractors and sub-contractors
