Profit Optics is a small, custom software company where my job title was Senior Business Lead, but the role was performing the work of a Product Manager. I was hired as a Business Lead, but after I showed a strong aptitude for the job was promoted to Senior Business Lead within the first 3 months. This was a result of my abilities to quickly understand the client’s needs and create a vision for the solutions we built. In this role I was a part of two main projects that I delivered to completion, a volume rebates platform, and a sales commissions system. The volume rebates system was a larger project than I was ready for at the time, but it gave me an opportunity to reach for success. Without prior experience, I was able to learn how to run a project using agile methodologies in Jira, gather requirements from the client, and break them down into individual tasks while providing a consistent vision to the development team I was managing. The commissions system allowed me to refine my skills in product management. I defined the system from beginning to end. We started with how the data was imported, and the processes each user role needed. Then we proceeded to define how those processes would create the needed reports and dashboards generating a final output. In both of these projects my responsibilities were to gather requirements from the clients, analyze any reports or process documentation they provided, create a vision for the solution we were going to build, break down that structure into digestible chucks, and manage the execution.

My role as an implementation engineer consists of three main objectives in SOLIDWORKS' Data Management solutions, including PDM Standard, PDM Professional, and Manage Professional. First, I deliver a hassle free implementation services integrating any IT team with the business requirements of their engineering department. Second, I upgrade existing PDM and Manage systems utilizing best practices to keep data safe and downtime minimal. Third, I provide consulting services to clients on new design and documentation practices for use in PDM and Manage. My focus on all of these objectives is a no nonsense look at best practices for using these tools. I will help you cut red tape while keeping required data, identify and cut out confusing process steps in exchange for the bare essentials, and close process holes so mistakes can't happen.

A contractor at Abiomed working in the Lifecycle Engineering group. My job duties include CAD support, ECO review, and CAD innovation. I provide technical support to Abiomed's engineering team using Solidworks and PDM systems. I also manage and track the review of change orders to verify that all necessary files have been updated and the changes comply with company standards. My role in CAD innovation has three components. Creating and hosting training for new engineers on CAD/PDM best practices. Second creating database infrastructure that eliminates tedious tasks from drawing creation and modification. Lastly investigating new uses of the software to help new designs get created and iterated on faster.

During my time at Algenol I created technical document standards for mechanical design drawings and piping system diagrams. This required me to implement a PDM system for our mechanical CAD that existed in Solidworks and manage the piping projects in AutoCAD plant 3D. When we combined all of the mechanical designs in PDM I began a part numbering system to implement into our ERP system Epicor. At the end of my time at Algenol I had built a team that modeled our mechanical designs and drafted our piping system diagrams.

High Pressure Turbine Co-op Rotation: I worked on the redesign of the tip of a blade retainer plate. I performed analysis on test data to determine whether life requirements were met. Proposed a new coating to the tip that would reduce wear and extend the life. I also completed several Change In Design documents (CID's) by proving the changes in design wouldn't negatively effect other parts of the engine, and obtaining the necessary signatures to grant approval. My last duty included manufacturing support, I determined wheteher parts that were manufactured incorrectly met the necessary specifications.

Aeromechanics Rotation: I assisted the analysis engineers by digitizing the flutter curves that determined whether a blade was within specification. I also wrote a large portion of the CT7-2E1 engine certification document sent to the FAA.

Supply Chain Co-op. I monitored the manufacturing of a turbine shroud, prevented problems that would impede manufactruing, and introduced changes in the line to reduce cycle time. During my rotation I reduced the cycle time from 25-15 days. Another of my duties was to monitor gage delinquency. During my rotation I kept the gage delinquency rate close to 0 by implementing a system that kept all the workers notified to when they had gages that needed to be calibrated.

I assisted the owner Carter Grant in any and all contracting jobs he was currently working on. My duties included flooring installation,cabinet installation, painting, cleaning, and demolition. I worked closely with Carter Grant a licensed contractor to perform semi-skilled labor.

I coached the 11-12 Boys Summer League. Focusing on technique and strength building I saw great improvements over the three months that I worked there. I also worked as a substitute for the masters swim coach. In this role I coached swimmers ages 21+ focusing on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and increasing speed.
