I manage the GalGael's Unexpected Garden and Ibrox Commons in line with the Trust's objectives. The role involves: • Garden maintenance tasks• Supplying the community kitchen with fresh produce• Developing the gardens as habitats for biodiversity, and aesthetically• Coordinating/supervising volunteers and participants• Assisting in the curation of seasonal gardening workshops• Linking in with other organisations and projects that have aligning objectives

Designing and implementing a pollinator-friendly herbaceous perennial and native wildflower planting scheme for two public gardens in central Bonnybridge. Each bed delivers on a number of key aspects, including: • Plant suitability for site-specific growing conditions • Year-round interest (extended flowering, evergreen foliage and/or decorative seedheads) • Harmonious/attractive colour arrangements (re leaves, flowers and stalks) • Variety in flower morphology for different pollinator groups • Foliar diversity (so that displays focus on more than just flowering) • Variety in height structure (according to requirements) • Maintenance according to manager capacityEach year I also arranged educational activities for visiting pupils (ages 6-12) from three local primary schools. Activities were designed to engage as many children as possible through a multi-sensory learning approach.

Designed and implemented attractive and pollinator-friendly planting for planters in central Stirling's Business Improvement District

Practised permaculture in Scotland's G63 area (north of Glasgow), lead and supported organic/regenerative crop cultivation workshops and coordinated volunteers. Grow G63 focuses on building community through improving local food sovereignty and helping to address food poverty.

Informed planning applications of legal considerations/obligations with respect to protected species and habitats.Responsibilities included-Conducting extended Phase 1 habitat surveys for identifying and evaluating habitats for protected species. -Writing technical reports including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EcIA), and producing mitigation and management plans for a variety of protected species.-Carrying out protected species surveys including of great crested newt (holding a Natural England Level 1 Class License), bats, badgers, reptiles and water vole, as well as hedgerows (in line with Hedgerow Regulations 1997).-Liaising with clients and ensuring commitments are delivered to the satisfaction of all parties involved.-Managing projects (including subconsultants and budgets).-Preparing fee proposals.Also contributed to research projects, Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW), and managing and providing educational activities for students on work experience.

Carried out all extended Phase 1 Habitat surveys of prospective development sites (>100 sites of varying size and land use history) proposed in support of Wealden District Council's Local Plan (residential).

Conducted all aspects of garden maintenance, design and landscaping to customers’ needs. Promoted and encouraged more wildlife-friendly garden management wherever possible.
