Each bed delivers on a number of key aspects, including: • Plant suitability for site-specific growing conditions • Year-round interest (extended flowering, evergreen foliage and/or decorative seedheads) • Harmonious/attractive colour arrangements (re leaves, flowers and stalks) • Variety in flower morphology for different pollinator groups • Foliar diversity (so that displays focus on more than just flowering) • Variety in height structure (according to requirements) • Maintenance according to manager capacityEach year I also arranged educational activities for visiting pupils (ages 6-12) from three local primary schools. Activities were designed to engage as many children as possible through a multi-sensory learning approach.
