I am a mechanical engineering major with a mathematics minor from Gonzaga University. I enjoy tinkering with anything I can get my hands on whether it is a TI Launch Pad or an old blender. I have made a collection of things on my own such as a coal furnace, a DC bench power supply and a 3D printed space gun. Outside of engineering I received a mathematics minor because I liked mathematical models and control theory. I really enjoyed my partial differential equations class and my complex variables class that I took while in school.Since graduating I began writing reports and for the Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA) department at Hi-Rel Laboratories in Spokane. The testing I report on ranges from discrete passive component to large hybrid integrated circuits like DC to DC converters or EMI filters. I transitioned to an Analyst position while still helping with the reporting and testing. Most of the parts I test are bound for space and I find it fascinating how complex the entire qualification process is. I am learning so much about embedded systems, metallography, chemistry, positive material identification and all the other testing we do. My background as a mechanical engineer along with my internship (Triumph Fabrication) and my senior design project (UTC Aerospace) have made me realize just how much there is for me to learn.
