Whether helping to shape and record community oral history projects, working with organizations to shape their own dynamic narrative or documenting social movements towards increased justice,People Place is at your service.

Lawrence Skaters Association is the advocate body for skaters in Lawrence, KS. LSA works to acquire funding for park improvements and organizes builds at the Edgewood Community Skatepark and facilitates the annual Build-a-Board event in partnership with the Douglas County Housing Authority. Edgewood Community Skatepark (Edgwood DIY) is a community-built skatepark located in Edgewood Park on the East side of Lawrence, KS. Edgewood Community Skatepark is a public-private partnership between LSA, the City of Lawrence and the Lawrence Department of Parks and Recreation. Through an official Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the CIty of Lawrence, the site has been designed, developed, built and stewarded as a sanctioned public DIY concrete skatepark. This community effort has received gracious support and collaboration from many individuals, organizations and local businesses. Development of the site is ongoing including a community mural project, site signage and much more.

Lawrence Songbook is a local legacy project designed to celebrate and uplift the songs and songwriters of Lawrence, KS. Utilizing the traditional songbook format, local music has been transcribed to be preserved, played and shared. Included songs have become part of the local cultural soundscape, creating opportunities for musicians, educators, and residents to learn and interpret the songs of their community.
