Mechanical Engineering Intern
CurrentSMTI is a company that is making strides to start production of their natural gas-powered heat pumps. I worked as an intern over the summer and had a hand in the development of the assembly line. I was given projects to create assemblies in SolidWorks. I also created blueprints for parts to be sent to a machinist and produced. In this position I worked in the office and on the plant floor. I worked with equipment such as forklifts and skyjacks. I also used tools such as mills, lathes, drill presses, mig welders, and band saws.
