EyeQ provides personalized advertising using in-store touchscreen displays which use computer vision to gain insights on consumers· Researched and developed new algorithms and techniques to reduce the margin of error in EyeQ’s vision recognition tool, which provides personalized targeted advertising tools and analytics to customers.· Implemented a new feature that detects demographics more robustly in the case of camera failures.· Helped create a solution to an elusive bug that caused the display to become unusable after long periods of inactivity.· Gained exposure to industry and best practices such as practicing daily scrum, agile sprint cycles, and using Atlassian’s Jira.

· Developed a ROS package in C++ which uses a 2D laser scanner to turn a portion of a wall into an impromptu touch screen.· Added new functionality to a ROS package which uses kinect data to detect poses and gestures. Depending on the gesture the user performs, the robot will turn, reverse, drive forward, or perform a routine.· Worked towards fixing the open source 'frontier exploration' ROS package. The existing version would become unable to make progress when attempting to find a path to inaccessible areas, making the package unusable.

UT's Autonomous Robots track of the Freshman Research Initiative (FRI) allows freshman to add new functionality to various robots· Worked with freshman to help them complete their independent research projects for UT’s Autonomous Robots track of the Freshman Research Initiative.· Some student projects included motion controlled robots, detecting and preventing collision with nearby obstacles, calibrating motors on a custom quad-copter to keep it stable, controlling robots with the brain using an EEG headset, and designing a touchscreen interface for visitors to UT's computer science building.· Debugged various issues with a variety of projects in both C++ and python which used a large variety of ROS packages.· Assisted in grading students' projects.
