I’m a Partner in Dentons’ Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy group. I represent both secured and unsecured creditors, including banks, financial/credit institutions, corporations, and individuals in credit and debt collection, security enforcement (both residential and commercial), bankruptcy, receivership, and restructuring matters. I additionally represent Court-appointed receivers and trustees on complex financial matters.I develop file strategies with clients to ensure expedient and financially-appropriate results from the initial file intake. I am well versed in preparing pleadings, applications, and orders that reflect the applicable case law and legislation. I have prepared written and oral argument for applications before both Applications Judges and Justices of the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, and before the Court of Appeal of Alberta in both Edmonton and Calgary. Beyond litigation, I’m skilled in negotiating settlements on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants to resolve matters where extensive litigation may not be necessary.
