I have spent a large portion of my time inspecting the existing system and attempting to arrest its slide through pipe rehab and spot structure repairs. I recently added water conservation to my title. My lovely wife has been very accommodating with frequent changes to showerheads. I'm just now implementing a very revised showerhead exchange program. Currently, I'm working on educational efforts for water conservation and really digging into the data on city wide water usage. Also, I will be preparing budgets for this in the future.Other duties as assigned have included involvement in capital improvement related meetings on the wastewater treatment plant, developing industrial stormwater pollution prevention plans for the wastewater plant and city airport and implementing efficiency upgrades at the water treatment plant in their small motors and lighting (I'm a nerd and enjoy efficiency stuff a lot). I primarily worked on general NPDES permits, including both stormwater and traditional discharging plants such as aggregate mines. I also played a role in their non-discharge "land application" program related to agricultural and industrial wastes with beneficial reuses.
