COMM 483 is modeled after Harvard's first year MBA program and is led by Professor Bob Elton, a previous CEO of BC Hydro and CFO of Vancity. The class develops leaders through the study and discussion of case studies, great leaders, guest speakers, and current global issues in a team oriented and open environment. It aims to help prepare students for the challenges of leadership in a changing global and inclusive society. [Excerpt from UBC Sauder website]As a Teaching Assistant, I worked with the Professor to develop the course curriculum, including planning class activities for leadership development and selecting business cases for class discussion, and improved the quality of student participation in class by providing timely feedback on their performance and coordinating peer feedback surveys and performance reviews with students throughout the term.

UBC Enrolment Services provides support to prospective and current students with opportunities and experiences for their academic and professional careers. As the Enrolment Services Project Assistant, I support Enrolment Services Advisors with coordinating student-focused programs (Financial Wellness Peers and ES Student Advisory Committee) as well as assisting with service staff scheduling and general office support.

The Musqueam Indian Band serves a strong, growing community of over 1,300 members. Their success as a precedent-setting First Nations government is built on the traditional teachings of their people, initiative and dedication of the Musqueam Indian Band. Through my role as HR Intern, I coordinated full cycle recruitment and onboarding activities for the Band office and supported the HR Manager with implementing organizational HR priorities and strategic projects. This included a comprehensive review of Musqueam’s remuneration system and the development of more progressive and performance-based compensation structure for Band employees.

WorkSafeBC is dedicated to promoting workplace health and safety in the Province to ensure that all British Columbians are free from workplace injury, disease and death. The agency has a mandate to oversee a no-fault insurance system for the workplace to compensate injured workers. The Accounting Services department plays a crucial role in the administration of accounting functions to support the operations of WorkSafeBC. My role supports the Accounts Payable function, with specific responsibilities in administering urgent payments to injured workers in financial need and performing audit reviews of staff travel claims to ensure compliance with staff travel policies.
