IT professional with an academic background in engineering retooling to work with the latest software engineering technologies through collaboration with colleagues in seminars either live or online. DevOps experienced in the aerospace industry by supporting agile development teams with the CI/CD build pipeline through administering a static code analysis tool and a binary artifacts Repository Manager.Modern software engineering skills in web development were acquired primarily during the training year at LaunchCode, a Fortune 500 company supported programming bootcamp. Model-View-Controller design for Java and Python and Version control with Git/Gihub were enforced in project work here. Critical project work utilized the Gradle build tool and the Java Spring Boot framework and ended with using an interface to call on Hibernate to do the Object-Relational Mapping for the persistent model classes linked to a MySQL database.LaunchCode Java projects and instruction were done exclusively with the IntelliJ IDE, but the St. Louis University Workforce Center in it's Java Praticum, used Eclipse. Here JDBC connections to a SQL Server database was the route taken. The user interface was through JSP and continual refactoring was introduced to minimize repetitive code. JUNIT was introduced for testing and logging was done with Log4j. Creating build files with Ant was also illustrated. GUI tools were introduced as an alternative way to interact with Github repositories in addition to the command line.A brief look at Android mobile development was also accomplished at the Workforce Center, primarily with Android Studio but work began using Eclipse with ADT. After an introduction to JavaScript, studies ended there with an overview of Hadoop through tutorials in Cloudera and Hortonworks.LaunchCode's early curriculum used CS50x online and mirrored Harvard University's CS50 Introdution to Computer Science course. I mastered the C language Problem sets on encryption, image file processing and a large portion of memory management, hash tables and linked lists. I competed in the CS50 online C language programming challenge finishing 400 out of 600.Along the same lines, I competed in the last four GlobalHack hackathons, GlobalHack IV - VII, and the MasterCard Masters of Code hackathon covering the period from 2014-2018.
