College teaches you how to learn, your first day on the job teaches you that you know nothing, and everyday after is an opportunity to learn. In my current role I'm honored to work on a rather small technology services team and smaller SOC team. "How is that a good thing?" Well, because that means each team member is TRULY an IT professional that I get to pull and learn so much from their years of experience. Being on a smaller extremely experienced team has challenged me to always push myself to improve and never stop learning. As a member of a small SOC team I have opportunities many my age don't get. I've got experience as an information security analyst monitoring our network's security. I've gotten to help maintain, manage, and deploy firewalls, endpoints, and anti-virus akin to an information security specialist. I managed and developed security awareness training and phishing campaigns. I've even done data collection and retrieval similar to a digital forensics expert. Like I said, I've gotten to experience a lot and honestly...I love it! There is no way to say it other than "everyday is an opportunity to learn."
