I am a soon to be graduate of Western Washington University’s Marketing program. Here I have learned all sorts of topics ranging from accounting to excel to deciphering marketing analytics. Western has given me the opportunity to hone my skills in a real environment and work with real clients, such as the Western Washington Career Services Center, who requested the eyes of marketing students to improve the awareness and interest of incoming students in the service in order to better prepare them for their future education. At Western I have been able to delve into the world of marketing and learn from professionals through the Student Marketing Association club, where I had the opportunity to further learn about what the industry is like outside of a classroom setting. Through various group projects I have also learned the valuable skills required to work with sets of people I have never met and have gained the confidence to present my findings to clients. More importantly than the practical skills I have developed over my four years at this school, I have also learned a great deal about myself as a person. I think of myself as a creative and friendly individual with passions for cooking, baking, weightlifting, drawing, painting, and the entertainment industry. I enjoy teaching myself new recipes from different cultures and experimenting with my own recipes when I bake. At the gym I strive to push myself and the dedication to physical fitness trickles down to my other pursuits. I have found drawing and painting both physically and digitally to be an outlet to let out my creativity that I otherwise keep in check when working with a client with specific requirements.
