I am a Cal Poly student, soil judger, and Research Assistant interested in research on fire-affected soils and fire mitigation and prevention strategies’ impact on soil chemical and hydrologic properties. As part of the Soil Geoinformatics and Biogeochemistry Lab operated by Dr. Stewart G. Wilson of Cal Poly’s Natural Resource Management and Environmental Science Department, I participated in research on the chemical properties of soils burned multiple times within a short fire return interval, soils where prescribed burns took place, and the impacts of experimental fire retardants on soils in California.
