Senior Program Officer
CurrentThe Strategic Partnerships team seeks out, catalyzes, and develops new investment opportunities that will result in meaningful impact for children, youth, and families in line with the Foundations’ strategic priorities as well as those of partner organizations including UCalgary and Alberta Health Services. The Child Health Grant Program currently includes over 190 active multi-year projects equating to more than $300 million in multiyear investments.As the Senior Program Officer I am a first point of contact, advocate, and liaison for the Child Health Grant Program serving to connect partners, stakeholders, fundraisers, donors, government, and the broader community to improve wellness for children and families. Managing the Child Health Grant Program development pipeline to shepherd applications from initial engagement to co-development to submission through to Board approval and implementation. I leverage our strong relationships with stakeholders to optimize the use of philanthropic funds and public health spending, finding and advocating for solutions to complex situations such as construction cost overruns, government funding reductions, and failed research trials.I lead the Partner Working Group, consisting of Foundation, UCalgary, and Alberta Health Services representatives, a key group to maintain productive relationships and clear communication with our partners and the primary venue for identifying potential new funding opportunities. Currently developing the Child Health Grant Program impact framework, including impact measures / key indicators for oversight, strategic planning, and Board reporting. Overseeing the annual impact reporting and project review cycle to ensure proper stewardship of donor funds. I author the annual portfolio impact report and present annually to subcommittees of the Board enabling accountability and oversight of funds committed and spent, impact of funded projects, and lessons learned from closed projects.
