I studied User Experience Design through the UXDI Immersive course at General Assembly Boston. The 10 Week course provided me with over 400 hours of instruction. I deepened my knowledge in the field, worked with clients, got hands-on experience in both individual and group projects and discovered other areas of UX Design which I am continuing to study on my own accord.While in the UXDI program I completed projects:• Wanderu (3 weeks) - Team of 3 PeopleWe worked directly with Wanderu to find a problem that their users have and create a solution. Through a series of User Interviews we found four separate problems which we took to Wanderu. Using their knowledge of their entire user base they asked for us to focus on “Group Trip Coordination”. We then designed a group coordinating feature and tested paper prototypes, as well as mid-hi fidelity prototypes of the app extension.• Etsy [Conceptual Project] (2 weeks) - Team of 3 PeopleWe created an extension marketplace for the Etsy app. The extension allowed users to request custom items, and allowed creators to bid on the creation of those items. We looked at freelancing sites for inspiration and interviewed users to find specific problems that we could address. We created and tested paper prototypes, mid-fidelity wireframes, and hi-fidelity wireframes. I focused on UX/UI Design, Research, and feature design.• Comicazi [Conceptual Project] (2 weeks) - IndividualI created designs for an E-commerce site for a local comic shop. I interviewed users as well as the business owners. The users wanted to support local businesses but had such easy access to online ordering that they weren’t. The business wanted to find ways to get people into the store as they were largely community focused. For this project I worked closely on the information architecture of the site as well as finding different ways to bring users into the store. One of the ways I accomplished this was defaulting the online checkout to “In-Store Pickup”.
