I am currently a Junior at Indiana University- Bloomington studying finance. The field of finance is a dynamic one that requires effective communication and collaboration with colleagues in order to achieve team and individual success, which is something that I have a strong passion for. It follows that I have many past experiences and positions in which I exhibited such passion; working as a dock attendant is a case in point. Working with team members, and actively communicating allowed for exceptionally successful outcomes, one such being given the opportunity to manage the dock on multiple occasions. Moreover, not only does the field of finance require substantial communication and collaboration, however it demands great leadership as well. In accordance, as the captain of multiple youth hockey teams I was able to develop numerous skills, one such being problem-solving where I would resolve conflicts and strategize to overcome, along with mentorship in which I had to be an open individual where others could easily approach and obtain advice. This quality of leadership has attached itself to me, especially when granted the opportunity to lead groups or teams at Indiana University.Currently, I actively explore new avenues for advancing both my personal and professional career. As a youth hockey coach I work to develop and improve my clients. In doing so, I have had the opportunity to acquire skills transferable to the field of finance: leadership as well as problem solving to name a few. This notion has followed me throughout my time at Indiana University. I have joined several student organizations and clubs at the university in which I am able to expand my knowledge and passion in finance.Subsequently, with my past experiences and prevalent passions, I hope to acquire internships in finance with organizations that share the same values as me. Along with this I hope to minor in marketing in the near future, as my passions and past experiences could pay dividends in the latter field. Not only this, but in the future, I have the ambition to run for high ranking positions amongst the organizations that I am a part of, such as president of the club hockey, which will help me develop my skills even further. In time I wish to achieve a position where my best skills can be used to work with clients and help them achieve financial success.
