2022/23 saw responsibility for all the technology aspects of several large scale office refurbishments for 7IM across the UK, with a specific focus on new modern hybrid working, alongside a voice technology replacement solution inclusive of a new Customer Contact Centre.2024 brings a range of new exciting projects providing modern technology to both Infrastructure tech and business tech all to ensure the continued organic growth of 7IM.

Working for Infrastructure Technology, responsible for the delivery of key infrastructure priorities, including:● Alignment to the newly created Technical Operations centre to deliver an implementation of a Workforce Management tool including all contract negotiations.● Alignment to the Risk and BCP division to oversee the closure of the client's Workplace Recovery site following changes to the Operating model, whilst ensuing a BCP position at all times.● Standardisation of communication infrastructure for remote offices following an acquisition.

Working with the Infrastructure Technology Executive & Strategy & Change divisions, I led multiple technology programmes to support commercial changes being undertaken by ASI. These included: ● Under a programme of work by the CEO Office, reporting to the CEO (AMRS) and Global Head of Infrastructure, Nick lead the $1.5m relocation of a US Datacentre to a new Colo space, and all communication links to a new office, in order to realise a $15m saving over 10 years.● The continuation of the Desktop Strategy programme to further introduce a Global Thin Client technology (£700K), resulting in the extension of desktop asset life from 3yrs to 5yrs min. ● Sponsored by the CIO, Nick created a programme of savings & benefits to enable modern working practices, a £5m initiative sought to deliver a new culture of “Anytime, Anywhere, Any Technology”. Delivering to 4000+ users, over a multi-phased 3yr Global Desktop virtualisation strategy this continued as part of the post-merger with Standard Life to further introduce a Global Thin Client technology (£700k), resulting in the extension of the desktop asset life from 3yrs to 5yrs min.● Creation of a team within Aberdeen to look at Software Packaging & Virtualisation and the associated business processes.● PM for various multiple large-scale acquisitions across the globe overseeing colleague, data and infrastructure systems migrations; Scottish Widows Investments (Global), Artio Global Investors (Americas), Flag Capital Management (UK/HK), Nick lead the colleague, data and infrastructure systems migrations.● Aligned to the Property division to project manage all technical aspects of a divestment of the Nordics Property business to a new owner.● Engaged to supply project management for several business divisions including HR, Compliance & Security to deliver technology solutions.

Aligned to the Infrastructure Technology as PM● to deliver two data centre migrations (Americas – DR Relocation / Asia – SAN replacement).● to manage the engagement of a third party to produce an ‘RFP to Contract’ for a managed service implementation for global server monitoring across three regions. ● to manage delivery of a 2,500 seat migration from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint.● to oversee implementation of Cisco UCS Blade technologies & P2V of 500+ servers.

Working initially as a contractor through EDS and later as a direct contract, delivered a wide range of challenging infrastructure engagements during periods of growth, merger and then cost reduction in response to the financial crisis. Key initiatives included:● A global infrastructure services end user computing cost saving delivery plan (through an ‘invest to save’ programme) assessing key processes and supplier arrangements which resulted in overall savings of over £4m. ● EMEA IT process service delivery transitions: overseeing the transition from RBS GBM in-sourced & outsourced services to an RBS Group outsourced service. ● De-merger of non-core business units to the value of £80m with the associated disposal of IT assets.● Delivery of multiple projects in support of the identity access management integration and IT services between RBS Group Technology and RBS GBM Technology.

• Programme delivery of two distinct business portfolios within Global Market Operations (Reference Data & Risk/Control).• Oversaw the P&L for an application SDLC enhancement budget of more than £5m and the delivery of a number of in-house or external vendor based application projects, including innovative solutions for MiFID categorisation, FATF, trade reconciliation & interest claim payments. • Secured client funding for the creation of a production technical support team and the on-going provision of support for a bespoke application. • Provision of an annual support & maintenance agreement of £1m+ mission critical “Know your client” (KYC) compliance application. • Implemented the EDS plan for the relocation of a number of support functions to overseas (India & South Africa) to ensure reduced costs whilst maintaining agreed support levels.

• Reported to an overseas US management team, working closely with the board of directors to ensure that their new global IT systems met the on-going needs of a rapidly-changing business.

• Managed a vendor based STP / financial messaging European technical support team of 20 people, providing support to more than 1000 clients• Finalist at the ‘Customer Services Management Group Team Excellence Awards 2000’ including presenting a highly motivational, well received, presentation.
