Over the course of my time at Niagara I was placed in the Manufacturing Development Program to learn and understand all facets of the facility including: Plant Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Warehouse/Shipping. After spending roughly 2 months in each of the departments, I was the on-shift Supervisor working our 2-3-2 schedule. I was responsible for pre-shift meetings, making executive decisions, contacting support teams for assistance, handling employee relations, and ultimately responsible for the success of the shift. Also during my time with Niagara, I shadowed and stood-in for both onsite and corporate project managers. During this time, I helped manage the installation, testing, and cleaning of our main line water feed as well as air compressors to supply Kansas City's newest production line. During the summer of 2021 I worked as a Systems Engineer within the Land Systems sector of Leonardo DRS. At DRS, I was placed on the MLIDS team where I was responsible for creating ATP (Acceptable Test Procedure) documents. These documents were used as an aid for employees to ensure that all systems integrated within the vehicles were operating correctly. At DRS, I was placed on the MLIDS team where I was responsible for creating ATP (Acceptable Test Procedure) documents. These documents were used as an aid for employees to ensure that all systems integrated within the vehicles were operating correctly. I work within a team of full-time employees to ensure that these documents were properly created, modified, and organized. The MLIDS team also held an integration event where various suppliers and government officials came together to get the MLIDS vehicles ready for testing. As an intern, I was specifically in charge of testing many masts used on the vehicles to ensure that criteria for full height deployment and proper operation were met. If these criteria were not met, the MLIDS team then contacted our suppliers for extra assistance and questions.While I was not working on the MLIDS team, I collaborated with three other Systems Engineers to redesign the current Systems Engineering SharePoint site. Using LinkedIn learning and other online resources, we were able to create a more friendly user interface and updated document libraries to ensure all important documents were stored together. Collaborating with a small group of undergraduates, the team voted on a certain type of electric vehicle to construct. The vehicle the group voted on was an electric powered scooter. Using Autodesk Fusion 360, the electric scooter was completely modeled with over 100 individual parts which were then used to create a full assembly. After the the assembly was complete, material was purchased to begin the manufacturing process of the scooter. This role focused on the completion of two crucial projects during the ten week internship. Project One: Focused on improving the accuracy of a CNC lathe that was experiencing issues while machining parts. The design for this calibration device was created in Solidworks, some parts of the design were 3D printed, and others were purchased. Combined with newly created G-Code programs, a permanent solution was installed on the lathe and has greatly impacted the profitability of the lathe. Project Two: Focused on determining the durability of many common cables used in a variety of Minco's products. The project required usage of a micro-Ohmmeter and 3D printing technology to provide accurate data in supporting the strength of these cables. Required collaboration with the Minco France Engineering team to create a simple solution that would avoid delaying a crucial order for a customer. This project required preliminary testing on many sensors and universal heads using a high pressure testing fixture. The data collected from these tests was very beneficial in providing customers with more detailed information about the products they were purchasing. Show less

This position has helped build both personal leadership and teamwork skills. The research conducted on this particular aircraft dealt with non-remote controlled flight. The second major project during this experience dealt with the flight patterns of damaged wing sections.
