Nick Pearson has over two decades of experience working in government relations, political campaigns and the business community. He currently serves as Global Head of Energy Policy for Google, leading the company's government affairs efforts to run on 24/7 carbon-free power. Before his time at Google, Nick led the Washington, DC office of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the nation's largest public energy provider. In addition to guiding presidential nominees for the TVA Board through the Senate confirmation process, Nick was deeply involved in energy policy issues for the organization, including existing and advanced nuclear and transmission planning. He also spearheaded outreach on behalf of TVA to federal agencies, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the Environmental Protection Agency.Nick has a long history in Georgia politics and public policy having worked on a number of state and federal campaigns for officials in the state and then serving as the Vice President of Government and Political Affairs for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, representing the legislative and regulatory interests of the association's 4,500 members. Aside from his tenure in the private sector, Nick spent time earlier in his career working on the legislative staff for a U.S. Senator from Georgia as well as in the Georgia General Assembly for the Senate Majority Leader and the President Pro Tempore.Nick is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and has completed leadership programs at the Harvard Law School and Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management.
