I am a graduate from Whittier College with a BA in history. My primary focus was on European and World histories, from the 1600s into the late 19th century. My personal historical interest include the Byzantine Empire, medieval Europe, Ottoman conflicts, and historical background of classic pre-20th century novels. I am the Curator for the Whittier Historical Society & Museum, located in the city of Whittier. I have worked at this location for over six years, acquiring various skills in relation to archival trades, business operations, publication, fundraising and special events, marketing and supervising interns and volunteers on a regular basis.Among the skills I have acquired or sharpened is: attention to detail, thorough organization, memorization, multitasking, budget organization, archival research and storage, exhibit assembly, fundraising and special event planning and ability to either work alone or with a group setting. I am looking to expand my knowledge of museum operations with other museums that service a greater diversity of exhibits to a larger segment of the public.
