How I went from cleaning toilets at my town's local gym to helping run a multi-million dollar business before turning 23 ⬇️ Up until my second year studying at Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst, I had never worked more than a regular maintenance job in my hometown. My family was built on small business, as my late father ran his own construction company and had his own car wash and self-storage building. The entrepreneur gene was hard-wired into my last name, but with him not around to guide me, I wasn't sure where I could start. I was going to be graduating with the same degree as countless other students at my school, and unless I did something to set myself apart, I would be just another name on a list.Then I learned about the Young Entrepreneurs Management Program through social media during my sophomore year at UMass Amherst and that’s when my professional life changed. This is when I met my first mentor and he opened my eyes as to what could be possible for myself and my future. He helped me go from having ZERO business experience to running a $192,000 business, managing 10 employees, and completing over 60 projects during the summer months in between my studies full-time at school. For the first time in my life, I realized that I had so much potential to develop skills that I could use in every aspect of my life. From there, I decided to take some time off and reflect on what this experience taught me. I spent some time traveling during my study abroad semester in Florence, Italy and got to experience life with the flexibility an entrepreneur holds. However, when I got back, I couldn't just go back to my previous ways and fall back into the same routines pre-YEAA. I decided to come back for another summer to prove to myself that my first go-around wasn't a fluke and that I was meant to be in this position. Not only did I perform just as well as my first year, but I actually scaled my business up 33% to produce a RECORD-BREAKING $250,420 in revenue. I then knew I deserved to be here. With YEAA seeing my potential, they offered me a position to help run and scale the $1,250,000 New England Division.
