I am Nicholas Gerth and I graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering in May 2024. I am a current employee of Kenworth Trucking, a PACCAR subsidiary, as an electronic systems architect.During my time as a Part-Time Student Test-Design Engineer at John Deere over the summer and remotely through my senior year, I gained invaluable experience in a real-world engineering environment. I worked with LabVIEW, TestStand and OrCAD while learning general engineering principles. Collaborating with Test-Design engineers provided me with insight into the research, development and testing environment, something that is critical in any engineering company.As with engineering principles, I firmly believe that possessing strong interpersonal skills is vital for success. During my junior and senior years, I was involved in the Harold Frank Engineering Entrepreneurship Institute where I worked in a multi-disciplinary setting alongside business and non-technical students to design and compete in the WSU business plan competition. Similarly, in a more technical setting, I had successfully revived the Robotics Club on campus after its hiatus during COVID and I served as its president for two years till graduation. Through these experiences, I have demonstrated my determination to tackle tasks comprehensively and efficiently regardless of problem, which I believe is vital to any role.
