My role is to shape the approach to employability of the Faculty of Science and Health at the University of Essex. I work with senior colleagues to agree a set of priorities and ensure that activities support the institutional objectives of excellence in research and excellence in education. I manage a Faculty Employability Team to deliver high quality and impactful actions in each department and work with staff, students and stakeholders to enhance employability across the institution.

To provide leadership to the Change Agents UK group (Change Agents UK Charity and Change Agents UK Trading Ltd) and to take responsibility for its management and administration within the strategic and accountability frameworks established by the Board of Directors.To identify business development opportunities and undertake activity that ensures that the objects of the charity and the objectives of the Trading Company can be achieved and that the group can grow.Enable the Board to fulfil its duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of the organisation and to see to it that the Board receives advice and information in a timely, thorough and appropriate manner.

Organisational leadership, project development, fundraising, stakeholder management. Responsible for regenerating the Charity by developing, resourcing and managing new funding streams and projects. Attracted more than £700,000 income from a range of sources including European, national, regional and local funding sources. Expanded charity workforce from 1 to 7 people whilst creating employment and training opportunities for a further 600 young people and recent graduates. Created a sustainable funding model for the charity whilst delivering award winning projects on a range of scales.

Partnership development, stakeholder engagement, performance management and improvement focus for Peterborough’s Local Strategic Partnership. Worked with partner organisations to deliver a range of interventions, projects and activities contributing to Peterborough’s strategic vision. Promoted to Partnership Manager in December 2009 and developed excellent relationships with the political, public, private and voluntary sector and worked extensively on a range of young people’s issues. Became an integral member of the GPP’s solution centre approach which identified and implemented innovative and partnership wide activities to combat poor performance in a number of areas. Key membership in a range of partnerships and boards including; chairing the Peterborough Play Partnership, Enjoy and Achieve Partnership, Healthy Weight Peterborough, Youth Council, Environment Capital Partnership and Environmental Education. Attracted and administered a range of funding streams across the city and partners.

Managed multiple teams of between 4 and 8 graduates to deliver fully supported work placements in the sustainability sector. Successfully exceeded financial and annual targets during 4 years. Promoted to managerial role in 2006 following 18 months as Project Coordinator and Senior Project Coordinator. Full budgetary, staffing, planning/reviewing, marketing, communication, training and networking responsibilities within the project. Delivered a variety of training, undertook competitor analysis, completed a communications audit, developed an expansion programme and gained 27 new clients and a number of new projects in 2007.
