Driving a culture of “Work Safe, Home Safe!” while continuously improving on and developing the company-wide Safety & Health Program, leading to multiple Top Workplace Awards in the process. Following industry best practices with respect for local, state and federal regulations, safety is now at the forefront of everything we do. There has been a reduction in the number of injuries being logged on our OSHA recordkeeping logs on an annual basis with the last lost time injury occurring in 2018.Continuously working with our field leadership on enforcement, scheduling necessary trainings and new-hire orientations, performing routine safety audits, JSA’s and JHA’s, and identifying and addressing ergonomic hazards related to repetitive motion activities and over-reaching.With our culture buying into the process, it has allowed me to thoroughly and accurately administer our workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs with multiple reductions to the companies EMR rating with a current EMR of .59.I also coordinate with a team on General Human Resources activities related to file management, employee handbooks, employee relations, and EOE/AAP policies and procedures. And main point of contact of the Minnesota Drywall Safety Committee, a group of safety professionals from our competitors who meet monthly to collaborate and partner together to better the industry.

Bailey Nurseries has been recognized as one of the United States' largest wholesale nurseries, with products distributed by more than 4,500 independent garden centers, landscapers, growers and re-wholesalers. And it was my responsibility to oversee and enforce safety, emergency preparedness, DOT, and ergonomics programs within Bailey’s diverse culture in order to meet or exceed expectations, family traditions and reputation within the industry. During my agriculture adventure with Bailey Nurseries, I implemented several new key safety and health policies and procedures, with a full overhaul of the company-wide Safety & Health Program and Safety Data Sheets storage with over 500 identifiable chemicals used. All of which spanned across their main offices and growing fields throughout the Twin Cities, nurseries in Yamhill and Sauvie Island, Oregon; Sunnyside, Washington and Onarga, Illinois. Coordinated with production managers, supervisors and foreman across the company with safety inspections, safety related trainings and certifications, while ensuring full compliance with federal, and the multiple state and local regulations involved. I was also the chair of the company safety committee and teamed up with site specific sub committees located throughout all of the individual farms and facilities.

And over the past 30 years Be The Match®, which is operated by the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP), has managed the largest and most diverse blood stem cell registry in the world – a registry that at I am proud to be included in. In order for Be The Match to accomplish their mission to save lives, it was my responsibility to ensure all office staff, warehouse/lab staff and field representatives were provided with a safe and healthy working environment with respect for all federal, state and local regulations. I was the lead for all ergonomic assessment requests, evaluations and recommendations – because the team’s attitude was "A happy, comfortable worker, was a more productive worker." Worked with management on the purchasing of higher quality office furniture and equipment while staying under budget. I managed a team of floor wardens for the Emergency Resource Team (ERT) and ensuring employees exit the building within the allotted time provided by local authorities and exceeding those requirements and expectations. Assisted with new employee training and curriculum development in coordination with the marketing department, and chair of the company-wide safety committee which included employees across the U.S.
