Working under Dr. Jill Wegrzyn. I ran model and non-model organisms through existing gene annotation pipelines to assess current annotation capacities and set machine learning hyperparameters. The lab worked in a UNIX and cluster environment where we learned and applied Deep Learning techniques to set parameter representation and get accurate genes from the pipeline.

Independent execution of extraction to NGS sequencing pipeline techniques in a high-throughput setting utilizing Eppendorf epMotion 5075 liquid handling robot and Illumina MiSeq instrument. Updating and maintaining SOP and SQL based LIMS. Aid in teaching mothur and R based workshops. Training new technicians and overseeing all supply ordering. Designing and executing protocols using automated high-throughput liquid handling machinery.
