Started out as nursery assistant, ensuring all stock was watered, fed and presentable. As my plant knowledge grew, I was put on various courses, including NVQ level 2 in horticulture and my pesticide spraying certificates. From there I moved into a more customer interaction role, were I was taken orders from phone calls, emails and faxes and processing the right through until dispatch, including sourcing and buying from Europe. I then split my time between nursery maintenance and sales. Throughout my time at Johnsons, I helped look after logistics, maintenance of both plants and grounds, sales, customers relations, advertising at horticultural shows and stock replenishment.
