About Nick Mcbride
Hi, I am a personal development coach and motivational speaker with my company, The McBride Group, LLC (DrNickMcBride.com), as well as a pharmacist and healthy living advocate. My particular interests and areas of passion include preventive patient care, coaching for healthy living, leadership development, business development, entrepreneurship, economics, personal development, mindset optimization and facilitating effective teamwork. I truly believe that this is a very exciting time for the profession of pharmacy, and I certainly enjoy the privilege of being part of solving new challenges and creating new opportunities in order to achieve optimal patient health outcomes. As Winston Churchill once stated, "Healthy citizens are the greatest asset any country can have." I believe there is an incredible opportunity at the core of the healthcare challenges that we face today. For far too long, we have conducted our "healthcare" system as a "sickcare" system. Whether inadvertently or intentionally, patients have been propelled down a complacent road of cognitive and behavioral dissonance. As healthcare professionals, we must motivate and coach our patients to achieve their full potential of healthy living, which certainly includes the use of medicine. However, we will never achieve a healthy society by utilizing a "pill for every ill" mentality. Although medicine certainly serves an extremely important purpose, we have grown far too reliant on it when it comes to chronic disease state management. We must make a fundamental impact on lifestyle in order to affect any lasting, positive change. The only difference between an obstacle and an opportunity is your attitude. Let's do it together!
