Managed and scaled the Executive Assistant org from zero to four direct reports to provide support systems and white-glove assistance for the (amazing) co-founders/executives of the premier software engineering intensive. Built out and refined the systems we use for triaging emergent priorities, ongoing special project management, interdepartmental communication, and professional development/feedback.

No one's San Francisco startup era is complete without the experience of being "employee" number one at a South Park startup incubator at a single table with 3 super smart founder dudes more passionate about engineering and social impact than monetization strategies or making payroll. I'm beyond proud that mine was here, hustling for product-market fit and meaningful slide deck fodder at a cutting edge live video activism startup that pivoted into citizen journalism just in time for the Arab Spring over a dozen other inspiring democratic movements across the world. It was a profound time to ask yourself: can humanity's relentless struggle for self-determination also be an undiscovered opportunity for up-and-to-the-right user acquisition? In all seriousness, these guys were full of heart, and it wasn't their fault they couldn't pay me. Ask me about the time Google Translate accidentally guided me towards producing dangerous propaganda in Turkey a decade before I could credibly blame It on large language models.

I'll be honest, I really loved this menial job; It turns out I can easily find joy in stocking Coke Zero for underpaid and overworked technologists if they're willing to spend 5 minutes talking to me in the morning. That said, I have a pretty unshakeable suspicion that I was just leverage in someone else's salary negotiation, which felt a little weird. I was also the only person who played the video game system they had set up in the break room, which in retrospect probably didn't help my chances at renewal. People at video game companies don't have a ton of time to play video games, but my shift ended at 2. If you lent me your GDC badge, I didn't realize at the time that scanning it would sign your email up for stuff -- forgive me! the swag was too compelling.
