Nicholas Krapels is an American writer, educator, and entrepreneur who has lived in China since 2011. He studied insurance, business strategy and corporate risk assessment in mainland China at the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management. He graduated with a double Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies and Music from Bard College (NY). He obtained an International MBA with a focus on finance and global supply chain from the University of South Carolina Moore School of Business.His first book, Myanmar 2014: New Information and Cultural Insights Entrepreneurs Need to Start a Business in Myanmar, co-written with Sivers, Derek (2014). His pieces about China have been published on VICE News. His finance-related work is published on Seeking Alpha.Mr. Krapels has avidly studied China since 1995. His current research focuses on the unique management of monetary policy and the nature of blockchain innovation in China’s economy. He lives in Shanghai where he teaches undergraduate finance and pursues a doctorate in Chinese politics at East China Normal University.
