I was managing partner for this tiny real estate investment company from September 2005 to January 2011. The company saw a 16.5% annual compound growth rate,even using conservative asset valuations, in portfolio equity since its inception in 2003 until I handed over the day-to-day management of the company to another party. Modest Homes is a real estate investment company founded in 2003 to specialize in distressed urban properties for long-term investment. In the past, I've held many positions within Modest Homes: landlord, developer, carpenter, contractor, accountant, tax preparer, consultant, business analyst, and real estate portfolio manager. In all these roles, I emphasized low-cost, efficient operations and prudent capital allocation.
