As a Chief Technology Officer at Qhala Limited, my role entailed the following:• Developing and executing strategies to grow the consulting business resulting in an average of 2X year-on-year growth.• Team building and management including hiring, coaching and performance appraisals, promotions and disciplinary actions as needed.• Responsible for managing a diverse team across multiple disciplines including UX/ UI design, software engineering, quality assurance, and scrum/ project management.• Leading product development from initiation and planning through delivery and implementation for both internal products and consulting projects.• Sales leads generation and conversion as well as ensuring the delivery of technology projects for the business customers.

As a Software Engineer/ Data Scientist within the Safaricom Alpha products team, my role entailed setting up Data Science capabilities for the team by:1. Building a big data platform to store, manage and analyze data for different products in order to deliver insights that drive decision-making.2. Training and deploying Machine Learning/ AI models to address business-critical problems. 3. Building information visualization tools and creating data stories to share insights used in decision-making. 4. Building and mentoring a team of junior data scientists. 5. Developed a disease surveillance and awareness system to monitor international and local travellers who subscribe to the product and send them alerts on ongoing disease outbreaks in their locations of travel.

Led a team of business analysts, business process and business intelligence developers, developing a Business Process Management solution at Union Bank Nigeria using Oracle BPM, Oracle SOA, Oracle Service Bus, Oracle BAM, and Java. The role involved:• Managing the development team and collaborating with the client’s business analysis and project management teams to develop systems that meet business user needs. • System architecture design, documentation and implementation.• Solution design, development, testing and deployment of BPM business processes.• Design, development and deployment of business analytics/ reporting dashboards.• Mentoring and training a team of business analysts, business process and business intelligence developers.

The role involved:• Design, development and deployment of web and mobile portal solution modules using BEA WebLogic Portal 8.1 SP6.• Installation and administration of an Oracle 10g Database RAC cluster.• Design, development and deployment of a custom software load balancer performance monitoring solution running on Apache web server.• Configuration and administration of Provato, which is an SMS gateway.
