Full-time postgraduate researcher in the Cooley lab studying the regulation and mechanisms of stop codon readthrough in the Drosophila central nervous system. Published a peer-reviewed article as a second author describing neuron-specific readthrough of the Drosophila kelch gene.

Member of Dean Lynn Cooley's laboratory, which studies the cellular mechanisms of gamete development using Drosophila as a model system. Several topics of research include the molecular genetics of Drosophila oogenesis; actin cytoskeleton regulation; ring canal formation and regulation; and ovarian muscle function. Dean Cooley's lab investigates how maternal components are made and delivered to oocytes by nurse cells during Drosophila oogenesis. The role of ring canals in the polarized transport of maternal mRNAs, proteins, and organelles is of particular interest. Research is also focused on the development of female germline cells, from their early differentiation into oocytes or nurse cells, through the control of oocyte growth during oogenesis. Last, the role of ovarian muscles in the progression of developing egg chambers through the ovary is being investigated.

Assisted postdoc Anna Santoro in the Diano lab in handling mice, conducting experiments, and recording results. Presented recently collected data in weekly lab meetings and provided feedback on experiments to other members. Designed experiments based on promising findings in the peer-reviewed literature on mitochondrial dynamics and proteins that regulate energy metabolism.

Ascertained the professional standing of 1,560 Yale alumni to determine success in their respective fields of academia and industry. Collected data on how two of Yale's PhD programs compared to those at over 15 peer institutions to provide insight as to where resources needed to be directed to elevate the prestige and overall academic value of Yale's PhD programs. Analyzed the graduate school choices of 461 applicants who declined admission to Yale's PhD programs to gauge the competitiveness of other PhD programs.

Developed an Excel-based competitive analysis of the DOE Global Energy Storage Database that forecasted potential growth areas for the company and gave insight into competing technologies. Diagrammed electrical circuits and hydrogen systems with Solidworks for company presentations. Researched and located materials for developing NASA and BIRD Energy projects.
