Through this work, I ensured the Desk regularly contributed to our monthly print magazine's front of book, Features well, and back of book (culture and lifestyle opinions, reviews, essays, etc.) — In this role, I managed partnerships with fellow news organizations like ICT (formerly Indian Country Today), ProPublica, and Grist, among others. As a nonprofit news organization, I also worked with HCN's Fundraising team to secure financial support for the desk and the organization — through my first two years, I helped land significant general support funding for IAD and contributed to a successful application for ProPublica's yearlong Local Reporting Network. — I also provided sensitivity reads across the magazine on pieces directly related to or adjacent to Indigenous issues and communities to ensure they met the standards set by IAD and HCN.
