Communications - Machine Learning For Healthcare

• Creating and implementing a full communications strategy to maximise visibility and impact of the van der Schaar Lab’s world-leading research in machine learning for healthcare• Driving the creation of a single lab-wide approach to understanding and categorising machine learning methods and techniques from the perspective of practicing clinicians and healthcare professionals; applying this approach to new and existing projects• Planning, authoring and editing pieces of long-form content introducing the van der Schaar Lab’s vision for a healthcare revolution driven by machine learning• Developing and engaging with communities of machine learning experts and healthcare professionals, with the aim of developing a shared understanding of the potential of machine learning in healthcare; developing strong and mutually beneficial working relationships with individual clinicians and researchers• Arranging interviews with Professor van der Schaar and the lab’s other researchers, either in promotion of the lab’s ongoing projects or as subject matter experts on broader topics related to machine learning or healthcare• Drafting and editing communications materials (releases, Q&As, dedicated webpages, presentations, etc.) to boost visibility of the lab’s research projects and events, including publications, software releases, achievements, and competitions• Supporting the lab’s efforts to recruit the most promising researchers (primarily PhD and postdoc) in the field of machine learning through targeted use of online communications platforms and organisational contact networks• Creating and managing online communications channels (e.g. the van der Schaar Lab website, external Slack channel, YouTube channel, etc.)
