Nicholas is the Head of Real Estate Investment and a partner in Eversheds Sutherlands' London Real Estate Group. He has extensive experience structuring and delivering real estate capital markets transactions as well as advising on investment, development and finance aspects of real estate transactions. His practice has an international focus serving global clients on transactions in the UK and European real estate markets. Nicholas founded Eversheds Sutherland's "Living Group" which he co-heads with colleague Nathalie Edwards. The Living Group brings together multi-disciplinary expertise and experience in the ‘Living’ sub-sectors: PBSA, BTR, the PRS, hotels, senior living, co-living and build to sell/private residential. The group offers a holistic view of the market from the perspective of investors, lenders, developers, contractors and operators and all of the expertise and experience clients need to succeed in the Living Sector.Experience: Legal advisor to the UK's national railway company on the privatisation of its commercial property estate comprising 5,300 properties. A consortium of Blackstone and Telereal trillium acquired the estate for c. £1.5bn. Legal advisor on the acquisition of the 'Willow' student housing portfolio that saw the purchase of assets in five UK cities by Aventicum from Unite.Legal advisor on the acquisition, financing, structuring, development and letting of the London Bridge Quarter Estate which includes the Shard of Glass Tower.Legal advisor on its acquisition, development and disposal of the Pure Student Living student housing portfolio comprising 3700 student units for c.£870m to a joint venture between Goldman Sachs and the Wellcome Trust.Legal advisor on the land assembly, transaction structuring and procurement of a development partner to develop out the 27 acre Mayfield site in central Manchester next to Piccadilly Station with a GDV in excess of £600m.
