Developed Python code to compile observational datasets that span spatial and temporal scales. These included MiRS microwave soundings, Tail-Doppler Radar scans, dropsonde profiles, IBTrACS data, and Statistical Hurricane Intensity Prediction Scheme (SHIPS) shear values. Code was then developed to pair near-coincident observations to provide a comprehensive evolution of thermodynamic and kinematic processes in tropical cyclones. In its inaugural application, I applied this Python code to Hurricane Edouard (2014), a heavily-observed and moderately sheared tropical cyclone that intensified into a major hurricane. Using the program, we were able to comprehensively verify previous work on Edouard regarding the moistening of the drier upshear quadrants during the storm's intensification.Future work with this code hopes to provide additional high-resolution context to the evolution of tropical cyclones, with a specific focus in gaining a better understanding of intensity changes in moderately sheared storms.
