Aside from my work as a Lab technician, I spent time working alongside a fermentation researcher, taking samples from a bioXplorer. Using a YSI machine I would record glucose and ammonium concentration in the cell broth. I would separate the cell pellet from the supernatant as well as performing serial dilutions and recording the optic density at specific time points. At the end of the experiments, I would clean the silicon tubing as well as the BioXplorer tanks.

At LA Fitness I was a personal trainer and sales representative for the company. I contacted clients to come in for guided workouts and went over specific agreements if they would like to sign up for the gym and for personal training. I got to meet all kinds of people and talk to them on a personal level about what they do and the role the gym plays in their life. I also connected other companies to the gym. I would reach out to external companies such as Bang Energy Drink and Reign Energy Drink to host sponsored events inside the gym. I would also speak with managers from nearby shops and see if they could advertise guest passes to the gym in return of advertising for their company. I led group workouts. I practiced and performed workout routines where clients do not injure their body. By the end of the term, I was a motivator and guide for the clients in the gym.
