This has included ground breaking work on the prevention, detection and mitigation of corrosion and materials for solar fuels, energy storage, efficient mineral extraction, molecular electronics and spintronics.Experience of developing and running large scale collaborative research programmes in University, government laboratory and commercial environments.Specialties: Computer simulation of functional materials with the aim of contributing to materials design - nanomaterials, oxide surface chemistry, organic electronics and magnetism, graphene, strongly correlated systems, corrosion.
