I am an investor, entrepreneur, and author focusing on software, financial technology, data management, cybersecurity, energy, and life sciences.I am the Chairman and CEO of Arcadia Capital, an investment firm focused on both public securities and venture capital. As entrepreneurs, Arcadia develops proprietary algorithms using advanced scientific and market research, risk management, and investment discipline. I am also a Venture Partner and Co-CIO with FAA Investments, a multi-family office based in Hong Kong and San Francisco. Our investment focus is divided into three main areas: hedge funds, PE/VC, and Real Estate. We manage assets and advise asset allocators for APAC and US-based investors. FAA focuses on emerging managers, using our investment industry and managerial expertise to help build successful investment companies. I have been a senior advisor/investor/board member to companies such as YunFeng Capital in Hangzhou, China, Maverick Networks, Broadcom, Meru Networks, Fortinet, Barracuda Networks, Ubiquity Networks, and Cardax Pharmaceuticals, among others. I currently work with Anylog, Akitra, Platina, Tosk, Lion Fuel, and Life^2, among others, in data management, artificial intelligence, energy, and life sciences.I have written five books on investment principles, strategies, technology, artificial intelligence, and cross-disciplinary thinking, published over 100 articles, and lectured at several graduate-level programs.I have served on over 35 boards of directors and worked with many management teams and companies from early-stage to growth to maturity and exit. I help build teams and ecosystems, working with investors, addressing strategic and operating issues, and effectively guiding investments.My academic experience includes the Harvard Business School (MBA), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Advanced Technologies and Computer Science), and the Harvard Kennedy School (Global Leadership and Public Policy). I also have a B.S. in Biology and Computer Science from the University of Southern California. I am a mentor to graduate-level students at MIT and Harvard, a member of the MIT Technology Review Global Panel, active with Harvard University's Innovation Center, a member of the President's Circle of the Milken Institute (until 2015), and a guest lecturer at Harvard University, the Hong Kong University for Science and Technology and UCLA’s Anderson School of Business (from 1993 to 1998).
