The group interacts between the plant operators and the core designers. We perform plant tests to verify that the plant is operating within the design, this includes testing of a new cycle against the design of the core and monthly surveillance activities throughout the cycle. We often create different programs in order to automate processes in order to use our time more efficiently and create consistent products. As part of creating these programs, I have been involved in testing the programs in order to verify that the program performs its intended function, while also trying to make the program better. The programs that we develop are based in Visual Basic 6 and VBA.As the Fuel Performance Engineer, I participate in industry conferences and industry groups to establish and maintain the best fuel integrity throughout the life cycle of the fuel assemblies, from contract administration, to fabrication of product, through review of offload video inspections.As a member of the Programs and Tactical Engineering department, I am the Engineering Representative to the Employee Safety Committee. We discuss past reports that affect industrial safety on site and other related issues.
