A diverse and international career in Hospitality and Tourism, I have a passion for change for building new and exciting opportunities in operations. in hotel and operations. During this renovation new menus across the property were created enticing a younger hip crowd. The project was successfully completed on schedule and with minimal disruption to guests, the hotel is now showing positive growth in terms of revenue, occupancy and improved operational procedures Room rate lifted by 20$-25$ a 15% increase. I acted as liaison between the corporate team and the builders, whilst ensuring continuity of the hotels ongoing operations. The new brand however don’t not continue due to a changed of direction from incoming CEO.I was based at Rydges Kalgoorlie Resort and Spa the premium hotel in the Goldfields, of Western Australia, with 100 rooms, 3 function spaces and large alfresco restaurant and large outdoor pool, annual revenue was 5.8 Million. During this position I was expected to turn the hotel around from underperforming to being profitable. My role was to market and position the hotel as a “local” business and I was also actively involved in various bodies including being a Board Member of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Tourism Council and Board Member of the Chamber of Commerce. I focused on business consolidation amid tight budgetary restraints due to the mining downturn. Building a strong team and local contacts were my priorities.
