• Serve on the board of directors of Upstate Capital, which is a statewide non-profit organization that connects capital providers, entrepreneurs, and professional advisors to opportunities across New York State.• Board responsibilities include developing and planning the overall strategic vision and direction of Upstate Capital as well as identifying and engaging potential new member and sponsor organizations.

• Serve on the board of directors of Long Island High Technology Incubator (LIHTI), which is a non-profit organization that supports and accelerates early-stage, high-risk, high-tech businesses.• Board responsibilities include helping guide the overall strategic direction of LIHTI as well as serving on both the finance and audit committees.

• Had direct responsibility for $130 million portfolio of innovation, technology development, and investment initiatives targeted to entrepreneurs, innovators, and early-stage companies in the energy space.• Managed 12-person team of highly accomplished professionals with a combined 300 years of experience in innovation, entrepreneurship, technology transfer and commercialization, product development, investing, sales and marketing, and manufacturing.• Oversaw statewide network of more than 40 venture development professionals, which provided commercialization assistance and business development support to over 250 portfolio companies.

• Managed NYSERDA’s $25 million clean energy incubator initiative, one of TBI’s most successful and impactful programs in terms of return on investment, which supported six incubators across the state that assisted over 200 early-stage companies raise more than $405 million in private capital.• Led the development and deployment of NYSERDA’s investor engagement activities, which aimed to better connect TBI portfolio companies with the full spectrum of investors, improve the environment for clean energy investing and syndication of deals, and attract more early-stage capital to New York State.• Served as a Technology to Market (T2M) advisor, the first official T2M staff member at NYSERDA, to ramp up commercialization for TBI’s portfolio of over 250 research, development, and demonstration projects as well as accelerate the time to market for clean energy technologies and solutions that benefited New York State.

• Oversaw portfolio of entrepreneurship programs and commercialization partnerships totaling more than $3.4 million, including the NYSERDA-sponsored iCLEAN incubator, Innovation Center for Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneur-In-Residence Program, New York Business Plan Competition, New Energy Symposium, and Tech Valley Innovation Pipeline.• Developed and scaled R&D, entrepreneurship, and commercialization programs as well as collaborated with scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, investors, corporate/strategic partners, government officials, and business leaders to effectively bridge the gap between the laboratory and the boardroom.• Succeeded in obtaining funding of over $5 million from federal and state agencies, primarily for projects focused on commercializing energy storage, solar photovoltaic, energy efficiency, buildings, and smart grid technologies.

• Co-founded MICROrganic Technologies, a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute spinout company that is commercializing microbial fuel cell platform technologies for wastewater treatment applications.• Responsibilities included overseeing financial planning and P&L responsibilities, writing and managing grants, developing and executing fundraising strategies, negotiating terms with investors and vendors, and managing day-to-day operations.

• Worked on a restructuring team with owner and other management to re-engineer the business processes of one-season Christmas tree farm, which transformed it to a three-season agricultural tourism business and resulted in annual revenue increases of more than 100% year-over-year from 2006 to 2008.• Led sales and operations teams of over 30 part-time employees by efficiently allocating and managing staff and resources, which resulted in decreased operating costs of approximately 35% from 2006 to 2008.
