Dr. Nicholas Rauber is passionate about community service. A dentist by training, Dr. Nick Rauber saw firsthand the power of community engagement and giving during his student days, when the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Inspired by the example of his teachers and fellow students and determined to do what he could to bring a sense of normalcy back to his community, Dr. Nicholas Rauber used his position as president of the Student Government Association to create a Dental Outreach Fund, as well as an oral health program for local special needs school. In recognition of his efforts, he received a number of awards from LSU, including the Delta Dental Student Leadership Award for outstanding leadership and service.Today, Dr. Nicholas Rauber volunteers for a number of organizations that offer dental care and services to underserved, low income, or special needs communities, including the Special Olympics and Donated Dental Services. Dr. Nicholas Rauber is also a long-time supporter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the American Diabetes Association, Cancer Services of Baton Rouge. Swollfest Fishing Rodeo was created as a fundraising event when he was just 17 years old that now gives back to many organizations, but the major beneficiary is the new Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital. Professionally, Dr. Nick Rauber practices at Aesthetic Dentistry Group in Baton Rouge, a dentistry partnership he co-founded with Dr. Daniel Bankhead in 2007.
