Experience: I have a unique and broad range of design, research, sales, product management, and marketing experience within the pavement and civil engineering industry. My experience includes:* Product Management (new and existing)* Linear Elastic Mechanistic Empirical and Empirical Design for Flexible Pavements* Forensic investigations for pavements* Reflective cracking mechanisms and the treatments that are recommended to address them.* Visual distress surveys* Network level pavement management systems and GIS systems for roads* Laboratory and large scale accelerated pavement testing* Training and Promotional PresentationsI am currently working in a space that deals with all the above but focused on asphalt interlayers used in pavement rehabilitation to resist the migration of reflective cracks and increasing traffic life.I also work with horizontal Geosynthetic subsurface drainage layers. These products essentially replaces the 3-12 in thick bound or unbound drainage layers in pavements, without reducing the structural capacity. Some current special Interests are: "Asphalt forensics". "Ninja Cracks" - Cracks that develop within the plastic state of asphalt, and are therefore not visible to the naked eye. "Asphalt mix instability "- more so during the loose mix phase (which we do little to characterize, other than to define proportioning of the aggregate) - as it relates to tender mixes, or mixes that are difficult to compact. "Lane shifting" to double the life of pavements, by moving the traffic from the wheelpath to between the wheelpath and back again. This cyclic behavior should significantly increase the useful life of a pavement structure. Trying to apply products in difficult conditions, where they typically do not go - e.g. asphalt interlayers directly on aggregate base. "Innovation" - any form, that exhibits a game changer.
