When I was a kid, I would draw on any piece of paper I could find. I would create my own heroes and dream up epic adventures for them. I loved Star Wars, Calvin and Hobbes, Japanese animation; any image that made me feel like I was looking into another world obsessed me. In art school, I was exposed to new favorites like J.C. Leyendecker, Bob Peak and Syd Mead; but I never lost my love of creating worlds.Professionally I’ve continued my obsession with world creation to my work. With every design I try and make sure it has some element of storytelling. I also try and infuse a functional reality to my designs to help make a world feel more real. I maintain an expansive library of reference images to help achieve a sense of reality. Also, I’m constantly working on my own to improve my skills and processes.Software Skills: Proficient with Photoshop, Blender, MS Office. Working Knowledge with Maya / 3ds Max

I made bump maps all summer and toward the end I got to do some simple character designs for a game pitch. It was a blast, and I always remember the time fondly.
