Worked with PCC's regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) team and was tasked with two separate intern projects. Created an RTO costing calculator that used previous project correlations in order to estimate future costs. This tool allows users to input various facts about an RTO system in order to determine cost and other necessary information for its engineering and design.Conducted research on lithium-ion battery (LIB) recycling and potential PCC oxidation applications. A research paper was produced which gave a summary of the different methods of LIB recycling, the chemical processes involved, current and future legislation about LIB disposal, the major companies and their respective market shares, and the types of systems appropriate for processing waste that is produced through the recycling process.
