Joining Metallica Minerals as General Manager, my immediate focus is on the successful delivery of the Cape Flattery Silica Sand Project with the objective of bringing the project from identified resource into full production in the identified timeframe. This will entail a full suite of design, engineering and construction solutions across land based and marine environments, along with navigation of approvals processes including Native Title negotiations and Environmental studies.

I have been fortunate enough to join the mining division of one of Australia's best known and well reputed East Coast based contracting firms, Golding Contractors. I am extremely pleased to join such a progressive and energetic team whose enthusiasm to excel and improve all aspects of urban, civil and mining projects is in sync with my own mantra and endeavours within industry. More recently engaged at Curragh Coal Mine for Golding Contractors, I was responsible for the planning and execution of projects directly related to the growth of the Golding Pre-strip Contract and uplift in productivity. During my tenure, Golding saw significant operational growth from 4 to 6 fleets, including the introduction of 29 pieces of heavy earthmoving machinery and ancillary equipment and over 150 personnel across operations and maintenance.Previously, I had been working at Baralaba North Coal Mine. This role saw me responsible for the day to day execution of production to meet mid and long term plans for the mine whilst still ensuring compliance and risk management for the operation as a whole. Challenging geological structure within this mine required constant managerial vigilance and a highly adaptive technical and operational team.

Metro Mining Ltd has reached a major milestone by progressing its Bauxite Hills Project through to production as planned for 2018. With this evolution into Bauxite Hills Mine, my responsibilities have also evolved to manage production and planning which includes the management of geology, mining engineering, survey, environmental and cultural functions. Further to this, by fulfilling the Site Senior Executive role, risk management is another significant area of responsibility under my control with the major task of overseeing the update to a more comprehensive site safety and health management system appropriate for mining operations.Far from being a solo effort, significant contributions have been made by Metro Mining, its contractors and the overall team in order to take this project to the next phase, and for that I congratulate all involved.

MetroCoal has undergone a change of name and outlook after its successful integration of Cape Alumina Ltd and its associated assets. Metro Mining continues as a bulk commodities resource company with short to medium term development projects in Bauxite, whilst maintaining its coal assets for the longer term. Immediate responsibilities entail successfully navigating the Bauxite Hills Project through the approvals process with subsequent mine development and construction over the next two years. This is a multifaceted project involving varied logistical considerations across land, sea and air. Ultimately the mined product will be designated for export markets to meet global demand for Bauxite ore, the precursor to alumina and in turn aluminium.

Fulfilled the role of Project Manager and Site Senior Executive for MetroCoal with specific focus on MetroCoal's "Bundi Project". Responsibilities include management of field exploration activities as well as coordination of the EIS and contribution to resource modelling for mine design. The ultimate objective was to bring the "Bundi Project" through to a fully operational underground longwall mine by 2018. UPDATE: Due to downturn in the coal market in 2013/14 company strategy has seen a curb in spending on its coal projects with a focus on developing interest in other commodities to create a diversified resource company.
