Our mission is to cultivate meaningful work for people with disabilities or other barriers.As a supervisor with Relay Resources, I was responsible for overseeing janitorial night operations and services oversight at the Portland International Airport. Specifically, I supervised a staff of between 25 and 45 janitorial and floorcare employees on a given night tasked with cleaning the airport.My duties included performing quality assurance inspections, coaching employees on various subjects, scheduling routes, employee relations, creating and submitting nightly activity reports, providing direct and indirect customer service, conflict mitigation and more.

I started Columbia Janitorial Services as a part-time venture while working part-time at FedEx Ground. As the company's founder and sole employee, I was responsible for all aspects of running the company from sales and marketing, to operations and scheduling, accounting and finance and other areas of responsibility such as customer service and a bit of interviewing candidates for potential on-call positions that I was planning to launch.

I started working at FedEx Ground pretty much right after graduating from Warner Pacific University. Given that this was my first position after graduating, this was an entry-level position and involved loading and unloading trailers. Sometimes this took place with teams, but most of the time Package Handlers work alone. Working was difficult and took place inside of a warehouse. Safety was a serious concern as was trying to stay motivated. Quality was a concern as we needed to ensure that we scanned packages as they were loaded and we had to make sure that loaded packages were stacked well to prevent items from falling during transit.

I took this position to help support myself while continuing the pursuit of my BBA. My assignment was to perform access control duties for a large paper mill. My other duties at the assignment were to track incoming and outbound loads and deliveries for the mill, perform customer service to visitors, deter unauthorized access, answer questions via walkups and phone calls and other public facing activities.

Dean Bise Outlet is a small, family-owned furniture store located in Sanger California. I was brought onboard to with restructuring the store in order to make it profitable again.My duties involved researching the store's past and present performance using employee statements, past and present books and any other information that could be acquired and used to identify areas that needed improvement or change. After identifying those areas, I worked with the manager on developing a plan that included changing how sales were preformed and the books were kept. We also had to build a new marketing plan and overall how performance management was implemented.

I enlisted in the reserves as a lane instructor. My duties involved training large groups of future military officers in combat related tasks such as first aid and hand grenade throwing. Responsibilities included setting up the location for training personnel, presenting the given topic to the people being trained, testing content retention and supervising the movement of the people being trained to and from my area. Presentations were also given with the assistance of demonstrators working as a team. During my time in the reserves, I assisted with the successful training of about 10,000 future military officers.

I enlisted in the Army straight out of high school. I did my basic training at Ft. Benning, GA. After basic, I was stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY with the 101st Airborne Division as a part of 3rd Battalion, 2nd Brigade. During my enlistment, I was deployed to Iraq for 1 year. My duties ranged vastly from patrol tasks and compound security operations to supervising a team of two other soldiers in an office environment.
