I conducted my doctoral research in the Harvard Microrobotics Laboratory under Professor Robert J. Wood. My research explored novel ways of creating and controlling movement within soft systems, and how to interface between hard and soft materials. As applied to soft robotics, these efforts typically involved finding ways to exploit intrinsic material.

Before starting graduate school, I accepted a short-term internship at a robotics startup, Meka Robotics, which as since been acquired by Google. In that position, my primary responsibilities were analyzing sensors, machining and assembling robotic arms, and designing and evaluating motion controllers. In my main project, I developed a modular test setup.

During a summer internship I worked in the Dynamics Systems and Controls Branch on experimental high-endurance VTOL UAV prototypes. I built and calibrated testing hardware, determined aerodynamic properties of various flight vehicles, performed vehicle redesign and modifications, updated and revised control software, and analyzed flight test data.

After winning a research grant from the university, I worked in the Modular Robotics Lab under Professor Mark Yim. In that role, I conducted research on various projects that required design, prototyping, testing, and analysis. I built and debugged complex analogue circuits, investigated and evaluated the potential of unconventional actuators, manufactured.

I weekly tutored groups of approximately 10 students in various levels of calculus. In this role, I created lessons plans, worked through examples on the board, coordinated problem sets, resolved homework difficulties, and worked with administrators to improve the tutoring program.
