The experiences that shaped me into the man I am today are the organizations and challenges I took on in high school. I was a part time employee at a struggling but consistently busy Sonic in Evansville, a leader in the Riley Dance Marathon fundraising efforts, and a peer tutor for friends and family, all while being a accomplished student. During my time as a Sonic employee, I helped recruit and mentor new employees to eliminate the obstacle of under-staffing. I also took on the challenge of creating the weekly work schedule which took an remarkable amount of communication and adaptation to new circumstances. My time at Sonic was my first look into the real world of business which opened my eyes to the extreme level of effort it takes to successfully run a business. In the four years that I worked as a Riley Dance Marathon Officer, we collaborated with organizations in our area and alumni that were dedicated the cause to give children a chance to live a joyful life. My team and I frequently made visits to Riley Hospital to these struggling but inspirational children. Each consecutive year we increased funds raised by a considerable amount. My senior year we raised the most money in my high school has since the beginning of this program at my high school.My experience through high school was my time as a Algebra 1 peer tutor. My senior year I was fortunate enough to be apart of the Math Help Crew, we stayed an extra hour and a half after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to motivate and educate freshman students struggling in math. As a team we supported these kids through two semesters of Algebra 1 and 96% of the kids were able to obtain the grade they needed to move on to Geometry. I can honestly say these kids taught me more than I taught them. I am an energetic, optimistic, persistent individual that desires new challenges and eager to build new relationships.
